So as you may have noticed there was no post on Monday.  You also may have noticed that I went very long without responding to any of your comments from the Wonder Festival 2010 Summer post.  Both of those are because I spent all of this last weekend at Otakon 2010.  It probably won’t make up for not having done a proper review but here is my haul from the convention anyway.

This is not my usual post today, no, but all my free time this week went into this little project.  It’s a custom build so you can imagine the time that went into making sure everything checked and while I still have a few wrinkles too iron out I feel she’s mostly finished.  But because all my time went into her I’ve paid almost exactly zero time to new figure announcements for this week (though I did briefly notice Taiga) so instead I wanted to share her with you.

Ever have one of those weeks you wish you could just forget?  I had one this week.  I’d rather not get into everything but just know that I’m fine and that things are better now than they were at the beginning of the week.  I’m just letting you all know this much so that when I say “no update today” it’s because I haven’t had the time to focus my mind much on the site or anything else.

On the plus side there weren’t any big announcements this week so it’s not like there was going to be a lot to talk about.  There was this FREEing Mio figure that I would have been all over if not for the fact that the FREEing Lucky Star line completely soured me to the company.  Mio’s 1/8th scale so the coloring might turn out better than the Lucky Star line, but for nearly 90 bucks I’m waiting to see some broader pics from the community so I know for damn sure exactly how she’ll turn out.

Looking at the calendar I’d say I’m a little late with this concept but I couldn’t find the time this weekend to do a full review so I decided to this instead.  The rules were simple: 1) The figure had to be released in 2009 (so all those GSC and Alter figures that got pushed back didn’t make the cut) and 2) I actually had to own the figure.  Despite those simple rules this ended up being quite the task since so many fantastic figures were released in 2009.  On top of that I decided to be really controversial and rank these 15 beauties.  Why 15?  Because I honestly couldn’t whittle the list down further than that.

No figure review today due to the recent holidays, end of the year festivities, and just wanting to chill out.  I’m also going to be turning in all my applications this week and that has been on my mind as well.  There’s also a strong possibility of no Friday post either due to the (currently unforeseen) side effects of exuberant celebrations of ringing in the New Year the night prior.

Taking the cue from Aka’s recent wishlist I thought it would be fun for me to try my hand at it as well.  I thought it would be something fun for the Christmas week as well as easy to write considering I spent the better part of yesterday digging my car out of two feet of snow.  Following what Aka did with his  I’m also trying to make a true wishlist; meaning these are figures I wish I had but are either hard to obtain, exorbitantly expensive, and/or don’t actually exist but I would like to see made.  Santa Yuki is one of them.  :3
