Oricon Top 10 (03.23.09) – Week 11
This week was filled with quite a number of high-selling singles, for a weekly chart. KAT-TUN’s new single, RESCUE got released and of course that topped the charts. Yusuke’s debut single also got released, for those of you who don’t know, he is one of the members of Shuuchishin. Tohoshinki and GReeeeN also released new singles. Anyway, here’re this week’s top 10.

As promised last week, I will write about males =P since well the chart is dominated by males except for Berryz Koubou and AKB48. Regulars on this site will know who will NOT be written about haha….that is Tohoshinki, flame me if you want. This week will I will write about GReeeeN of course and Yusuke.
First off is Yusuke, he is Kamiji Yusuke, one of the members of Shuuchishin (the yellow one) I know they go by either Shuu Chi and Shin but I don’t care enough to know which one he is lol. He also an actor who played the lead role in Celeb to Binbo Taro which I wrote about earlier because ikimono gakari’s Kimagure ROMANTIC was the theme song. He also played a role in ROOKIES, which GReeeeN’s Kiseki was the theme song to.
Anyway this song is the theme song to his drama, Kamiji Yusuke Monogatari. It is a one episode drama/documentary about Yusuke’s middle school days when he played baseball. The song is titled Himawari, it is a spring themed song. No translations/meanings because I are noob =). Anyway, this song isn’t bad, it’s a slower paced song different from his work in Shuuchishin.
Next is GReeeeN’s newest single Setsuna. They’ve been fairly active recently, releasing a single in December, January and March, they also have an upcoming single in May. Setsuna was used for the drama VOICE (which is freaking awesome btw). As usual with all of GReeeeN’s songs, it’s quite inspirational and talks about life. I can’t explain to well but you just have to listen to it or read it subtitled if you have to lol.
GReeeeN’s style may not be for everyone, it’s more hip-hop/pop a little more on the pop side though. Well it may not really be hip-hop but it isn’t your normal Japanese pop haha. It again is something you’ll have to hear for yourselves. Anyway, GReeeeN has become one of my favorite artists, I’d say definitely one of my top 5, maybe even top 3 behind BoA and Otsuka Ai. Setsuna is also my current text message ring tone xD.
