What we have on display today is a little exercise in dualities or, more specifically, the interesting effect when one company produces two figures and my reaction to the second figure is pretty much diametrically opposed to my reaction of the first figure.  It is rare indeed when I for a single post that I both praise and criticize a single company.  Today we have two companies to boot!

I opted to go straight to the source for Asuka and use HLJ since my usual venue didn’t look like they we’re getting her in.  Of course karma, doing what it does, saw to it that my usual venue put her up the next week, but by that point it was easier to stay with HLJ even though I’d have to pay shipping.  The unexpected result?  Me getting to do a review while the figure is still fresh and not months old!  Today we’re taking a look at Kotobukiya’s 1/6th scale Asuka Langley Shikinami PVC from Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance.

There are no big hauls this week just a bunch of hanging out. I know the pics of big hauls are popular but it just didn’t happen. So for this week you have another series of random images related to(most of the time)  anime.

I just wanna say that I love Lynn Minmay. I don’t see why everyone has been hating her for as long as she’s been around. People she’s just trying to live her life, pursue her dreams, when you were in high school did you want to sit at home and do nothing but wait at home for your BF to call you? NO. Sorry to break it to you Hikaru bro, but she’s got a life to live and dreams to chase independent of the expectations you’ve projected upon her.

Sorry that there wasn’t a figure review this week; I just got so caught up in the Aion beta that I pretty much decided to blow the review off in favor of more gaming.  The game was tons fun so I’d be hard pressed to say I regret missing the review.  Anyway, here are the figures I’m excited about this week.

Hey everyone, I’m going to start doing updates of just random pictures and random anime related happenings from when we hang out at the Anime shop and beyond. Totally bad sentence I know.

This is the table where manga is displayed. It is primarily a rental place, but they can order whatever you want. There is also a chick that hangs out that looks a lot like Asuka. All the otaku dudes are too shy to talk to her. Also Naruto rules everything. If you don’t like Naruto you are not welcome there. J/K, J/K, J/K everyone is welcome!

This has been a fantastic week to be a figure collector.  We’re finally seeing one of the larger and more established companies in Alter get into the Ikki Tousen seen with fantastic results; we’re seeing the birth of “actsta”, the love child of GSC and LiquidStone responsible for a new line of action-PVCs; and Max Factory is putting out a breath-taking Miku Hastune.

EDIT: Just saw the info for Kotobukiya’s 1/6th Asuka go online and I couldn’t wait a week to talk about her.
