Wonder Festival 2010 Summer occurred this last weekend and I’m sure by now you’ve all seen all the coverage from other fans who actually live in Japan and/or have the resources to travel to the event. I have neither so I have to steal borrow from those that do so I can share my thoughts. The most impressive thing about this Wonfes? There didn’t look to be a single swimsuit figure in the bunch.

Either this week was pretty void of quality PVC figure announcements or I wasn’t paying attention to all the right channels (which is also a rather strong possibility). It seemed like a great week to be a GK fan but for those of us without the crazy skills needed to actually produce one ourselves we were left with few options. Which is fine, because I’d be broke if I spent money on figures every week.

Unlike the last couple of weeks this past one was kind of light on the new figure pre-orders which ended up being prefect timing: I wouldn’t have wanted anything else to get in the way of Dead Master’s announcement. Not that I think anything could have upstaged her mind you but I just like the fact I can keep all my excitement reserved solely for her. November can’t come soon enough.

Not a lot of action happening on the pre-order scene this week. Of course that could have something to do with the fact the 2010 Tokyo International Anime Fair as over the weekend where a lot of new figures were previewed (did you catch GSC’s preview of Rin?). Anyway there were a couple nice surprises this week: surprises that both are guilty pleasures of mine. Plus both are cheap so the makes me extra happy.
Ah, Black Rock Shooter; a figure which needs no introduction. Despite my ranking her as my second favorite figure from 2009 I had been specifically saving my Black Rock Shooter for a special day. Since today’s post marks the 150th Figure Review on Polyvinyl Crush I’d say that definitely makes today “special”. So on this special day we’re taking a look at Good Smile Company’s Black Rock Shooter PVC.
