I like what I see but wonder what the re-release will be like

Wow, there are a lot of lackluster figures being officially put up for order this last week.  Even taking last week - which I took off to post my most recent acquisition set - into consideration didn’t seem to offer up many more that grabbed me.  There was one diamond in the rough though: GSC’s Triumphant Excalibur Saber.  Sure it’s a character we’ve seen a billion of before but you can never have too many Saber’s.  You can, however, have too few Rin’s.

Nice Haul!

“Saber Lily came in,” my local anime store owner messaged me.  “You had better not be joking,” my reply was.  Luckily for him he wasn’t!  Not only was Saber Lily waiting for me on Friday when I walked into the store, but Uplark’s Nia, GSC’s Nendoroid Saber Lily, and three new Lucky Star  “summer version” figma’s were as well.  Still waiting on Kagamin and then the summer figma harem will be complete. :3

Temporary madness but a great hair day

As I look back on all that has happened - growing together, me changing you, and you changing me - as I look back on those days I realize how truly stupid I was.  The past is gone forever and we may no longer have a future but I just can’t forget you.  “Why now”, you ask?  Because I’d like to try it again.  I know I don’t have any right to say this because of the pain I caused you but I want to have that future with you and I want to show you that I’m not the same man.  I was the one who was wrong and I’m sorry.  Will you give me another chance, Griffon Enterprises?

Three for the price of one

Understatement of the year: figures are becoming more expensive.  Obviously, some of that is to be expected with the global economic downturn, but I’d also argue that it’s because the  production quality of  figures have generally increased.  Using those points I could always reason out that increased cost, but no amount of reasoning can justify a figure that’s nearly $300 - especially one that’s not all that good.

Figures I’m Excited About ~WONFES 2009 Ver.~

Wonder Festival Summer 2009 is wrapping up in Japan and it looked like it was amazing: so many figures!  I didn’t have the resources (ie. money) to go to an event like this, but it’s a dream of mine to go to one of these large-scale Japanese cons: Wonfes and Comiket being the ones I’m most eagar to see.  I could’ve tried live-bloging it, but others already had that covered.  Instead I just combined the usual upcoming figures post with some event wrap-up “coverage”.  Oh, and be careful this time if you’re accessing from work - there are a couple of risqué ones.  :3

Girls who leap through space find unlimited darkness

Wave appears to be establishing themselves as the new Kotobukiya: the place to go for solid, well done figures that, while not the most technically superior, are easy on the wallet.  They are responsible for a majority of the figures I’m excited about this week so come on in and read about them.  I’m also trying out a new section where I complain about crappy PVCs!  Oh, Internets, what fun we’ll have now.
