There wasn’t much to talk about this week with new figures; I bought Shoujo S and managed to get on the second order for Azusa but that was pretty much it. So I was a little worried about the content of today’s post since there wasn’t much to talk about. Thankfully my store had a shipment of new figures come and one of them - *SHOCK* - I regret getting! On Friday we covered GCS’s follow-up to this figure with Saber ‘Triumphant Excalibur Ver.’ so I thought it would be nice to today review her predecessor. Saber on Friday and Saber on Monday. I can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend than to be sandwiched between two Sabers. Today we’re taking a look at Good Smile Company’s 1/7th scale Saber Lily ‘Distant Avalon Ver.’ PVC figure from Fate/unlimited Codes.

Wow, there are a lot of lackluster figures being officially put up for order this last week. Even taking last week - which I took off to post my most recent acquisition set - into consideration didn’t seem to offer up many more that grabbed me. There was one diamond in the rough though: GSC’s Triumphant Excalibur Saber. Sure it’s a character we’ve seen a billion of before but you can never have too many Saber’s. You can, however, have too few Rin’s.

I had a nice little treat waiting for me at my local store when I stopped by earlier in the week. And by little I really mean HUGE. Looks like whatever production issues that seemed to universally and negatively impact figure manufactures late last year has been resolved because the floodgates of figure goodness were opened wide this week.

I had expected my absence from posting during the holidays to yield a larger figure pool to talk about; similar to what happened when I returned from my previous break. There were a number of announcements but only a few of them I felt were worth talking about. There are a couple coming down the pipe from Comiket 77, but since there haven’t been official announcements for those I decided to leave them off. So here are the figures I’m excited about this week.

Taking the cue from Aka’s recent wishlist I thought it would be fun for me to try my hand at it as well. I thought it would be something fun for the Christmas week as well as easy to write considering I spent the better part of yesterday digging my car out of two feet of snow. Following what Aka did with his I’m also trying to make a true wishlist; meaning these are figures I wish I had but are either hard to obtain, exorbitantly expensive, and/or don’t actually exist but I would like to see made. Santa Yuki is one of them. :3
