Man, Otakon 2K9 was an absolute blast! There was rockin’ music, interesting panels, good anime playing, lots of otaku-ness on display through cosplay, fan-art, AMVs, and parodies. There was also tons of merchandise, of course, but I managed to stay composed and not go overboard.
OK, maybe I wasn’t so composed, but I only went a little overboard.

I almost regretted watching Hell Girl. Its ridiculously slow speed and almost zero character development notwithstanding, the part of the show that really irritated me was its child-like, black and white depictions of good and bad. The show took a turn for the better about mid-way through and the concluding arc ended up being something truly special. So now I don’t have to be shy and say I bought this PVC just because it’s cute, but I can also say the show it is based off was good too!
