Too busy to do a review but here is my latest haul instead

Title says it all.  It was another busy weekend for me (you would think getting prepared to go back to school for the first time in 4 years would be easier) so I didn’t have the time to get a good review in order.  This is also why I was so late in responding to all your comments from last Friday; it’s not that I didn’t want to but I just couldn’t find the time.  So, instead of my normal review, please enjoy my latest compilation haul.  Thirteen figures from all over the spectrum; name your moe and there is a good chance it’s represented in today’s haul.

Alter Jubei Yagyu PVC: Hyakka Ryoran

The stars aligned perfectly for my return.  Last week we Max Factory’s Miku Hatsune VN02 mix figure go up for pre-order.  Last week also saw the arrival of this little gem from Alter which allowed me to bring her to you today.  Today we’re taking a look at Alter’s 1/8th scale Jubei Yaygu PVC from Hyakka Ryoran (aka Samurai Girls).

Exclusives win this day but tomorrow never knows

When I first started covering “upcoming” figures and noticed all the exclusives coming down the pipe I absolutely hated it.  I thought they were a cheap, gimmicky way to artificially create interest for a figure and get an extra 20-30 bucks out of it at the same time.  Slowly, begrudgingly I began appreciating exclusives for their increased quality and more imaginative compositions, and even found myself ordering a couple despite my initial resolve.  Fast forward to today where nearly everything on my want list is an exclusive.  My name is Rico-sama, and I’m an exclus-aholic.

Maids and so much moe

Leave it to Alter to cut through another week of dry PVC pre-orders with a couple of fantastic figures.  Granted we’ve seen them before, but they’re still a welcome breath of fresh air from the rather stagnant  string of announcements I’ve seen.  Too bad I can’t same the same for Clayz’s offering, but at least it fits in with today’s secret ingredient.
