Leave it to Alter to cut through another week of dry PVC pre-orders with a couple of fantastic figures.  Granted we’ve seen them before, but they’re still a welcome breath of fresh air from the rather stagnant  string of announcements I’ve seen.  Too bad I can’t same the same for Clayz’s offering, but at least it fits in with today’s secret ingredient.

Rico’s pro-tip: when noticing a dip internet traffic to your site you can slap together a post about Evangelion figure and BAM! watch your stats go up!  Preferably it should feature Rei or Asuka, but you can also talk about Mari and even Misato.  No Ritsuko though; no one likes Ritsuko.  Today we’re taking a look at Kotobukiya’s 1/7th scale Rei Ayanami Maid Ver. We’re already starting to see some of the fruits of Wonder Festival 2009 Summer come to bear as Good Smile Company, MegaHouse, and Kotobukiya have already put some of their showcased figures out on pre-order.  I for one am happy to see this, even though my wallet will soon be weeping.

Wonder Festival Summer 2009 is wrapping up in Japan and it looked like it was amazing: so many figures!  I didn’t have the resources (ie. money) to go to an event like this, but it’s a dream of mine to go to one of these large-scale Japanese cons: Wonfes and Comiket being the ones I’m most eagar to see.  I could’ve tried live-bloging it, but others already had that covered.  Instead I just combined the usual upcoming figures post with some event wrap-up “coverage”.  Oh, and be careful this time if you’re accessing from work – there are a couple of risqué ones.  :3

Today we’re taking a look at Alter’s 1/8th scale “Gothic Punk Ver.” Louise PVC from Zero no Tsukaima.  I know there are a few “Louise = bitch” regulars out there, but you can all agree this  Louise PVC is mighty cute, no?

Alter’s 1/8th Scale Siesta PVC from Zero no Tsukaima was a figure that I bought without being absolutely sure I wanted it.  The official images made it look nice, but I hadn’t seen the show and I was worried that the sculpt would end up being very simple.  Even after getting the figure I was a little underwhelmed, but once I actually took her out of the box the whole story changed.
