Polyvinyl Crush

I bought Rise for a couple of reasons: great coloring, good detailing, a pose that looked interesting, and the best face for the character that was on the market.  Some of those reasons still hold true while others I feel I was trying to falsely project on to the figure.  Today we’re talking a look at Alter’s 1/8th scale ‘Swimsuit Ver.’ Rise Kujikawa PVC from Persona 4.

I had a nice little treat waiting for me at my local store when I stopped by earlier in the week.  And by little I really mean HUGE.  Looks like whatever production issues that seemed to universally and negatively impact figure manufactures late last year has been resolved because the floodgates of figure goodness were opened wide this week.

I sense a disturbing trend in recent figure announcements.  It can be summarized with a word that is foul to collectors who live outside of Japan: exclusive.  First we had word of Taiga’s exclusive nature, but there seem to be more where she came from.  There are a couple first-rate figures to talk about this fine Friday.  Would you like to know which won’t be yours?
